The Stars of Aruba – using humor to issue a new banknote series
Some projects are more fun than others. And when a central bank wants to step away from being perceived as dull, it makes it even more interesting.
The Centrale Bank van Aruba (CBA) had planned to issue a completely new banknote series for years together with Crane Currency. To generate public attention before the launch, the CBA adopted a humoristic teaser campaign leveraging the island’s vibrant social media channels, in particular Facebook and Instagram.
The teaser campaign was titled the “Stars of Aruba” and was created together with Crane Currency and its communication partners in Sweden.
